Actor Christian Bale visited the Colorado moviegoers who were injured during a deadly theater shooting that happened during a midnight premier of his film, "Dark Knight Rises."
The Denver Post confirmed Bale's arrival in Aurora, Colo. Tuesday through the movie's distributor, Warner Brothers.
"Mr. Bale is there as himself, not representing Warner Brothers," the studio told The Denver Post.
Bale gave his condolences in a statement following the deadly shooting:
"Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
Twelve people died and 58 people were injured in the shooting rampage at the movie theater.
Police arrested James Holmes, 24, as the suspect in the massacre. He made his first court appearance following the incident Monday.
MORE Access will have details on Bale's visit at 6:30 p.m. on FOX5.
