Police: Argument escalated to deadly shooting

According to Metro police, an argument early Sunday morning escalated into a deadly shooting.

Police found the victim - identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Oliver Hooker, 43, of Hyattsville, MN – Sunday morning in the area of Lake Mead Boulevard and H Street. He had been shot at least one time.

Hooker was taken to UMC Trauma where he later died.

Detectives determined a fight between two men led to the shooting. They located Brenton Smith, 45, of Henderson, near the crime scene.

Smith has been charged with murder with a deadly weapon.
