An accident involving three vehicles resulted in one person's death in west Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metro police reported the accident just after 2 p.m. Monday on Fort Apache Avenue and Red Hills Road, between Charleston Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

According to police, a 2013 Ford was traveling southbound on Fort Apache when it collided with a 1979 VW convertible Beetle. The driver of the VW, a 78-year-old man, was ejected and killed.

The driverless VW continued on, striking a 1997 Acura. Four people involved in the accident received minor or no injuries.

The accident, which remains under investigation, is the 69th traffic fatality in Metro's jurisdiction so far this year.
