LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Gas prices held steady at $3.38 a gallon in Las Vegas over the last week.
AAA's Fuel Gauge Report showed no change Monday in the average price of regular unleaded from the week before.
A month ago, the average price of regular unleaded was 20 cents higher. At this point one year ago, the average price of gas in Las Vegas was nine cents higher.
The Las Vegas-area is well under the current national average of $3.47 a gallon.
"Gasoline prices continue to rise across much of the nation, which is precisely what we had forecast earlier this year, so it does not come as much of a shock," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "Either way, I don't expect the national average to break out of its mid-$3 a gallon rut until mid-to-late September, then we may get some action to the downside."
