LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in a wreck involving a Honda Civic on Fort Apache Road near Lake South Drive, Metro police confirmed.
The coroner Friday identified the man as Travis Falder of Las Vegas. His cause of death has been listed as blunt force trauma.
Police said it appeared the Civic turned in front of the motorcycle at around 4:45 p.m. Witnesses said the motorcyclist was launched several feet in the air and debris was scattered across the roadway.
The 73-year-old driver of the Civic was not injured. His 90-year-old female passenger received moderate injuries.
Witnesses told Metro police the motorcyclist was speeding and popping wheelies before the crash. This was the 67th fatal crash in Metro's jurisdiction in 2012.
