Kevin Gamboa (Henderson Police)
Max Paez III (Henderson Police)
HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
Henderson police arrested two people who, along with a third person, were suspected of a robbery spree that included armed hold-ups at convenience stores and a casino that was struck three times.
Detectives said Kevin Gamboa, 21, was arrested late Wednesday in connection to the crime spree. Police had arrested Max M. Paez III, 30, late last month. A third suspect was still being sought and an arrest warrant was issued for the person, police said.
According to detectives, the three people began holding up gas station convenience stores in April. In the hold-ups, a lone bandit would enter the store wearing a bandana covering his face. That person would point a gun at the clerk and demand money.
At least six convenience stores were robbed in the same method by a suspect wearing the same bandana over a three-month span through June.
During that span, Club Fortune Casino was also robbed with a bandana-clad suspect pointing a handgun at a cashier cage attendant. The suspect would get away with an undisclosed amount of money during robberies on May 30, June 6 and July 2.
Paez and Gamboa were booked into the Henderson Detention Center on seven counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Police still need help looking for the third suspect. Anyone with information are urged to call Henderson PD at 702-267-4750 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
