LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police released the mugshot of a 21-year-old who was arrested for driving under the influence during a crash that killed his 19-year-old passenger.

Ralph Corpuz was arrested following the collision that happened at 3:21 a.m. Thursday at Alta Drive west of Joe Willis Street.

Police said a Ford Mustang driven by Corpuz was heading westbound on Alta when it lost control and crossed through a center median. The right side of the vehicle struck a tree in the median and then continued into the eastbound lanes where it rested.

Corpuz and his were transported to University Medical Center. The passenger was pronounced dead while Corpuz was released from treatment and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
