LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The City of Las Vegas and Mayor Carolyn Goodman celebrated the grand opening of a new fire station in west Las Vegas.
The station located at 1888 Stella Lake Street serves the Ward 5 community.
Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow, who represents Ward 5, joined Mayor Goodman, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Chief Mike Myers and City Manager Betsy Fretwell to open Fire Station 106.
The cost of the station is approximately $4 million, where one engine and one rescue unit will be housed.
Opening ceremonies included the traditional uncoupling of a fire hose, as well as tours of the new station.
