LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A northern Nevada woman who left home with her two children hasn't been seen in more than a week but could be headed to Las Vegas, authorities said Monday.

Sparks police said 24-year-old Vanessa Head told family members that she was leaving town to meet her online boyfriend.

She was last seen July 7 getting into a light gray or silver car with her son, 2-year-old Michael Scanlon, and daughter, 10-month-old Lilly Scanlon.

The car was driven by a black man wearing a white bandana and black shorts, police said. It's unknown if the driver was Head's boyfriend.

The children are not believed to be in danger, but police said they were concerned because Head has a cognitive disability.

Authorities did not say why Head could be on her way to Las Vegas, but believed she may also be in Sacramento or Vallejo, California.

Anyone with information that can help police is urged to call Sparks police at 775-353-2236.
