CCFD on scene at an apartment fire (Arron Healy/FOX5)
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Clark County fire crews responded to a fire at Antigua Bay Apartments on E. Charleston and Nellis boulevards just before 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Fire officials said a family was at home at the time, smelled smoke and called for help. They were able to evacuate on their own.
A total of 34 firefighters responded, locating smoke on the roof of the building upon arrival. Firefighters said the fire was contained within 12 minutes.
One unit was affected by the fire, a next-door unit received smoke damage and a downstairs unit was damaged by water, fire officials said. Nine adults and children were displaced as a result.
Hours later, power was shut off to all remaining units in the building because of water damage, displacing 21 more residents.
The American Red Cross is attempting to relocate 30 residents Sunday night.
There is a total of $150,000 in damages and no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
