LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were on scene of a hostage situation that began shortly after 7 a.m. at the Budget Suites near Rancho Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard Saturday.
Police said a woman barricaded herself inside of her apartment with her child as a hostage.
Officers and SWAT negotiated with the woman until she finally allowed them into her apartment at around 11:40 a.m.
The woman was arrested and her child is in the care of Child Protective Services
