PAHRUMP, NV (FOX5) -

Gasoline for under $3 a gallon is not a myth!

FOX5 viewer Jim Warnken sent this non-doctored photo Friday of a gas station in Pahrump, located west of the Las Vegas Valley, selling gas for $2.98 a gallon.

Warnken said the gas station is located on Highway 160 and Homestead Road.

In recent weeks, the average price of gas in Las Vegas has tumbled.

As of Friday, AAA's Fuel Gauge Report showed the average price of regular unleaded at $3.39 a gallon, which is 34 cents lower than a month ago and eight cents lower than a year ago.

Nevada is currently averaging $3.46 a gallon. The average price in the United States is $3.38 a gallon.
