NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A 19-year-old driver was speeding before her vehicle struck a light pole near a North Las Vegas intersection.

The wreck happened about 9 a.m. Friday near Lone Mountain and Losee roads, North Las Vegas police said.

According to authorities, the woman was heading southbound on Losee when she swerved to avoid hitting cars at the intersection. The driver struck the pole.

The driver was not seriously injured. Police closed the intersection following the crash.
