LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The city of Las Vegas is getting ready to open its latest fire station.
The station, located at 1888 Stella Lake St. in Ward 5, will open Tuesday, July 17 at 9 a.m.
Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Barlow, Mayor Carolyn Goodman, City Manager Betsy Fretwell and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Chief Mike Myers will be on hand for opening ceremonies.
The station is 7,800 square feet and will house one engine and one rescue unit. Six paramedics, six firefighters, three captains and three engineers will be assigned to the station.
Opening ceremonies will include the traditional uncoupling of a fire house, tours of the facility and refreshments.
