LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Arturo Martinez, a husband and father, who nearly lost his life in a brutal attack in April, is speaking out.

Martinez survived an unthinkable attack by an intruder who brutalized and murdered his wife and 9-year-old daughter. At the K.O. Boxing Gym, Arturo spoke to friends and family about his slow health recovery. He also said he forgives the person who destroyed his happy family.

Brian Clay, 22, is accused of entering the Martinez's residence on April 15.

Las Vegas Metro detectives reported Clay hit Arturo on the head with a hammer before he murdered both mother and daughter. Arturo woke up the following day with very little recollection.

"He will pay for his crimes and he will be punished for what he has done to my family," said Arturo.

"Step by step, you know. He is getting better every day. When he comes back from therapy, I help him," said his son Cristopher.

Brian Clay is currently in jail in connection to the Martinez murders. His trial is set to being next year.

The Real K.O. Boxing Gym on Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas will officially open this Saturday at 10 a.m.
