LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

"American Idol" is now without judge Steven Tyler after the Aerosmith frontman decided to leave the show.

FOX confirmed Tyler's exit after serving in two seasons with the reality competition show.

"After some long...hard...thoughts…I've decided it's time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol' before she boils my rabbit," Tyler said in a statement. "IDOL was over-the-top fun, and I loved every minute of it…Now it's time to bring Rock Back."

The producers of "Idol" did not indicate a replacement for Tyler.

The departure leaves Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez as the remaining judges on the panel.
