LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Incoming storm clouds have produced the likelihood of flash flooding in southern Nevada Friday.

A flash flood watch is in effect through Friday evening for the region including Nye County, the Las Vegas Valley and the Lake Mead area, the National Weather Service reported.

The Las Vegas Valley should expect storm cells to dump heavy showers with low-lying areas prone to the flooding, FOX5 meteorologist Ted Pretty said.

The heaviest showers have the potential to dump one to two inches of rainfall, Pretty said.

In addition, gusty winds are expected at times during Friday and Saturday.

Forecasters noted this should impact travel on roads, and drivers are recommended to not travel through roadways with standing water.
