LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A driver of a pick-up truck was killed when he lost control of the vehicle and began driving off a west Las Vegas roadway before striking a light pole and bus bench.
Las Vegas Metro police said the single-vehicle wreck happened on southbound Decatur Boulevard south of Palmyra Avenue about 5:21 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said a Chevy Silverado driven by a 35-year-old man was passing vehicles in the far right lane of Decatur when he somehow lost control and began driving towards the curb.
The vehicle went off the road, collided into a bus bench and light pole and rolled over on its side.
The driver and two other passengers were transported to University Medical Center. The driver was pronounced dead while the other passengers were treated with minor to moderate injuries.
As of this accident, Metro has investigated 65 traffic-related fatalities this year.
