LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Nellis Air Force Base medical doctor is being hailed a hero for coming to the rescue of his rescuer.

On July 5, Maj. (Dr.) Jeremy Kilburn suffered a broken leg while hiking near Big Bear Lake, CA. A paramedic responding to his distress call was struck by a helicopter blade. Kilburn, despite his injury, helped to save the paramedic's life.

Maj. Kilburn is a pulmonologist who has lectured on responding to victims of traumatic brain injury.

FOX5 is scheduled to interview Maj. Kilburn Wednesday and will have much more on his story.
