The mother and daughter accused in the slaying of an elderly neighbor pleaded not guilty and had their trial set for early next year.

Lourie Rodriguez, 46, and Amber Hall, 26, entered their pleas in Las Vegas Justice Court Friday.

The two were arrested in connection to the beating and stabbing death of 73-year-old Jean Greenburg. Police said the two conspired to beat Greenburg and steal her bank card and collectable coins.

Greenburg was found slain on April 29 at her apartment near Cambridge Street near Twain Avenue. Police were able to connect Rodriguez and Hall to the death after surveillance cameras captured the two using the woman's ATM card.

Police also said a knife was found in Hall's baby stroller for her 3-month-old child.

In an exclusive interview with FOX5, Rodriguez expressed remorse and admitted that something Greenburg expressed to her triggered an angry reaction.

A judge set a trial date of Jan. 7, 2013 for the two.

They face charges including conspiracy to commit murder, murder with a deadly weapon on a victim over 60, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery with a deadly weapon.
