Firefighters were able to contain a blaze to a garage of an east Las Vegas home Monday.
Clark County Fire Department reported the fire about 5:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Grandview Place, near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Sandhill Road.
A person inside the home said he smelled smoke coming from the garage that was converted into an office.
The man, who was the only person in the home, suffered a minor smoke inhalation injury.
Officials did not immediately say what caused the fire. Damage was estimated at $40,000.
