A 19-year-old male nearly drowned on Sunday at about 8:30 p.m. after cliff diving with friends in Nelson's Landing, a popular hangout for teenagers.
Lake Mead National Park officials say friends found the teenager floating and unresponsive in the water, so they pulled him out and conducted CPR.
Park rangers arrived on scene and took over CPR, saving the 19-year-old.
He was later airlifted to St. Rose Siena, where he is expected to live. Lake Mead told FOX5 the 19-year-old was awake and breathing on his own when boarding the helicopter.
He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.
