SWAT team surrounds shooting suspect in northwest neighborhood

Standoff on Scherer Street (Doug Johnson/FOX5)

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police officers and SWAT are engaged in a standoff on Scherer Street near South Buffalo and Westcliff.

An officer on the scene said a shooting left one man injured around noon on Sunday.

Metro said the suspect left and returned to the scene. Now, a SWAT team is surrounding the home where police believe the suspect is currently hiding.

Neighbors told FOX5 they believe the shooting is gang-related.

The shooting victim's condition is unknown at this time.
