LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Nevada's lawmakers in Washington reacted Friday to news that the United States only added 80,000 jobs in June, continuing a three-month weak hiring trend. Unemployed held at 8.2 percent.
Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, D-NV, had the following:
"Clearly, more must be done to help those unemployed Nevadans looking for work as they struggle to pay the bills, put food on the table and keep up with the mortgage payments on the family home. That's why middle-class Nevadans must remain our number one focus by putting job creation above the priorities of Wall Street corporations and Big Oil companies making record profits. We can make Nevada the clean energy jobs capital of the country, give Nevada small businesses the tools to begin hiring again and crack down on China's unfair trade practices that cheat American workers out of thousands of jobs, but only if Washington Republicans like Senator Dean Heller stop standing up for Washington special interests by blocking progress."
