LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Rapper and Las Vegas resident Flavor Flav escaped arrest by Metro police after setting off fireworks in his neighborhood and creating a scene reminiscent of a war zone, TMZ.com reported Friday.

The Public Enemy member, who is also known as William Drayton, and some of his neighbors reportedly set off a number of giant fireworks on July 4, creating noise and attracting officers.

TMZ said Flav was still clutching a lighter in his hand when officers arrived. He was, though, cooperative, the report said.

Police chose not to arrest or cite Flav, only asking him and the neighbors to end the fireworks show and clear the street.

In speaking with TMZ, Flav said, "We had a good time watching my fireworks show and everything ended safely. Cops came a few times but didn't arrest me … thank God (and the police)!!"

What do you think of the situation? Should Flavor Flav face jail time or a fine for the incident, which was recorded?
