
A group of young athletes are going for the gold, but not in London.
The track and field team Southwest Stallions are trying to head to the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics in Houston, TX.
The Junior Olympics will take place July 25 through August 4.
About 20 kids ages 6 to 15 have all qualified and placed in the top five in their perspective events but they need help paying for travel expenses.
Many adult Olympians have started their careers in the Junior Olympics circuit.
The team is looking for businesses to sponsor and help these young athletes get to the podium stand.
