LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Clark County Coroner's office released Thursday the name of a man who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Boulder Highway earlier this week.
Frank Harry Martini, 50, died of multiple blunt force trauma from the collision that happened late Tuesday night.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, Martini was crossing the highway near Harmon Avenue from the Eastside Cannery Casino when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 44-year-old David Nieto.
Martini's leg was lost on impact, police noted.
Martini was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police were able to catch up with Nieto's car after it was identified as the vehicle that struck the victim and fled.
Nieto was charged with driving under intoxication and hit and run charges.
Martini's death was the 63rd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
