LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Local law enforcement agencies made several DUI related arrests during the 4th of July holiday.
According to Metro Lt. Rich Fletcher, at least 15 arrests were made at the DUI checkpoint on Sahara and Decatur on the 4th of July.
A total of 8 drunk drivers were arrested at the DUI checkpoint on Sahara and Sandhill on July 3rd.
1,800 cars were inspected during that operation.
St. Fletcher hopes the arrests will serve as a reminder to the public to have fun, but live to tell about it.
At this time, no DUI checkpoints are planned for the 4th of July holiday.
Law enforcement agencies will have DUI vans and several saturation units on the street to keep an eye out for impaired drivers through the weekend.
