A visitor to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area sustained a severe cut to the leg after getting caught by a boat propeller blade, a ranger with the National Park Service said Wednesday.
Spokesperson Kevin Turner said the injury happened in the Sandy Cove area of the lake, but he could not confirm the gender and age of the person or the time and exact location of the incident.
Turner noted the injured person was originally being transported by medical helicopter but that was canceled due to high winds.
The victim instead was transported on the ground to University Medical Center.
