LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Investigators are blaming careless use of fireworks for a house fire that left five people displaced Tuesday night.

Firefighters believe a teen was playing with fireworks inside a house on Mulvaney Circle, near Cactus Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, just before 7 p.m.

Firefighters knocked the fire down in about 20 minutes. The second floor and roof of the two-story home were damaged significantly. Damage is estimated at about $150,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced.

Firefighters said this demonstrates just how dangerous fireworks can be and the importance of adults being in control of them at all times.

This is the first fire caused by fireworks in Clark County Fire's jurisdiction so far this holiday.
