LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police Tuesday afternoon investigated an accident involving an automobile and a moped at Mojave Road and Washington Avenue in downtown Las Vegas.
The person who was on the moped, identified as 65-year-old Refugio Herrera, was rushed to University Medical Center with severe injuries.
Police told FOX5 it appears the woman driving the car became distracted, ran a red light and hit the moped. Herrera was not wearing a helmet.
The accident remains under investigation.
