
The Quiet Storm Foundation is hosting its inaugural Texas Hold-‘em Charity Poker Tournament to help inner-city youth.
The tournament takes place on July 15 at the Poker Room inside Green Valley Ranch Hotel & Casino. The buy-in price is $100 a person.
The tournament is limited to the first 120 players to sign up.
All contestants will be entered in a drawing to win tickets to an NBA regular season game or four NFL tickets to see the Oakland Raiders take on the Arizona Cardinals.
Proceeds will benefit the Quiet Storm Foundation and its programs to serve inner-city youth.
There is also a free Hoops for Hope basketball camp and parent workshop scheduled for July 19-21 at the Doolittle Community Center.
Quiet Storm hosts free events for struggling communities such as homework programs for kids.
Bishop Gorman High School graduate and Chicago Bulls basketball player C.J. Watson is the president.
