This week's Pet Pal is a bulldog and retriever mix named Sofia.
She is about 4 months old and already spayed.
Sofia and her sister, Florence, were rescued from a dumpster at an apartment complex.
The Nevada SPCA said they want their animals to find homes where they will be treated as treasure, not trash, and see only the best of human nature from now on.
Also for the first time, the shelter will be open on the Fourth of July from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
