Escaped Nevada inmate captured

TONOPAH, NV (FOX5) -

A Nevada corrections inmate who walked away from work detail in Tonopah was captured  miles away in Esmeralda County Monday.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said Mark Nemeth, 40, was pulled over by sheriff's officers just before 9:15 a.m.

Authorities said he was in a vehicle stolen in the Tonopah-area at the time of his arrest.

Nemeth was discovered missing from the Tonopah Conservation Camp early Saturday morning.

Nemeth is serving time for attempted burglary, grand larceny and a charge of attempting to establish or possess a financial forgery laboratory, authorities said.

He was booked into the Esmeralda Co. Jail on additional charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, damage to a stolen vehicle and speeding. He was driving 90 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone, authorities said.
