The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wants to remind southern Nevadans that while fireworks are available for purchase in Nye County and the "safe and sane" variety are obtainable in Clark County beginning Thursday, no fireworks of any kind are allowed on BLM-managed land.
Fire restrictions on BLM land went into effect May 23 and stipulate the following:
Violations can result in a fine of up to $10,000 and a year in jail as well as costs associated with damages.
The BLM said so far this year 21 human-caused fires have occurred on BLM-managed public lands.
