LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting that left a woman dead and a man seriously injured.
Police have arrested Jeffrey Wilson, 28, as a suspect and took him into custody without incident. Wilson was identified as the son of the victims.
"I heard about three gunshots and it made me jump out of bed," said one neighbor.
Police said they received a 911 call at 4:43 a.m. Wednesday about a shooting on Greendale Street in Las Vegas, near Mountain Vista Street and Vegas Valley Drive.
Officers discovered two victims in a white sedan who had sustained gunshot wounds. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim was taken to Sunrise Trauma in critical but stable condition.
"I hear all the cops screaming through the neighborhood and I see the helicopters. I come home and saw a man, Bill, and his wife Katherine. Good people in the neighborhood," said neighbor Chris Hopkins.
Hopkins told FOX5 that the victims were Bill and Kathy Wilson. A hard-working couple that has been living on Greendale Street for several years.
"Bill would do anything for you. He did some plumbing work for me. I didn't really know her occupation other than we wave everyday and talk. She (Kathy) was a nice woman," added Hopkins.
"I thought I was going to die or there was a shooter in my backyard. Is everyone okay? It just scared me really bad," said another neighbor.
Wilson is currently at Clark County Detention Center, charged with murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
The identities of the victims will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office in the coming days.
