Two Metro police officers were transported to University Medical Center after a pickup truck struck the rear of their unmarked car during a traffic stop late Friday night.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated an unmarked 2002 LVMPD Ford Windstar conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 Toyota Corolla on Charleston Boulevard west of Buffalo Drive.

Both vehicles were stopped in the right travel lane and the Metro officers were inside their vehicle completing paperwork.

A 2002 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck was traveling on Charleston Boulevard, west of Buffalo approaching the vehicles from the rear.

Both officer's were transported to UMC with minor to moderate injuries and the other motorists suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet submitted to standard field sobriety tests and failed.

Goss was arrested for DUI.
