A man arrested Wednesday is accused of two unsuccessful robberies in which he tried opening store safes with a crowbar.
Henderson police arrested Christopher Jimerson, 24, of Las Vegas, in connection to crimes at convenience stores on May 30 and June 7.
According to detectives, a suspect pointed a gun at a clerk at the Speedee Mart on Horizon Ridge Parkway in May. The suspect told the clerk to get on the ground and then attempted to open the safe with a crowbar.
He was unsuccessful and fled without any money.
The suspect tried again in a similar fashion at the 24/7 Xpress on Stephanie Street. Just as the first crime, he was unsuccessful and fled without obtaining any cash.
Henderson detectives were able to identify the suspect as Jimerson while working with Las Vegas Metro police on a similar series of robberies.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention center on two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of burglary with a deadly weapon and two counts of destruction of property.
