LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Las Vegas Metro police released security video images of robberies believed to have been perpetrated by a suspect nicknamed the "Mustache Bandit."
Metro said the man was believed to have been linked to as many as nine robberies at sandwich shops and electronics stores in the southwest and southeast portions of Las Vegas.
In video of one such robbery, the suspect appears to tell customers to put their hands on the counter and an employee to get on the ground while command another worker to empty the cash register. Police believe he indicates he is carrying a weapon in his waistband, hidden under his shirt.
Detectives noted the suspect usually enters the business in the late afternoon to early evening hours.
Police called the robberies "prolific" from the variety of places he holds up.
Police described the suspect as a white man, 35-45 years of age, 5'10" to 6'2", 200-220 pounds. His distinctive features include a mustache and a baseball cap with a logo, police said.
The suspect has been seen getting into the passenger side of a small white pick-up truck. Police said the getaway driver was described as a white man.
Police urge anyone who recognizes the man to contact Metro's Robbery Detail at 702-828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
