LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Salvation Army is asking the public to help provide bottled water to those in need who use its cooling stations.
Officials with The Salvation Army say its location at 31 W. Owens Avenue is completely out of water and needs the help of the public to provide it to those who use the cooling station during the summer.
"Right now we have just 5-gallon coolers with ice water and cups, or if they have their own cups we can refill, but right now we are completely out of bottled water," said public relations officer Leslee Rogers.
"We need bottled water. So I'm asking anyone to bring one case, five cases, a palate; we don't care."
The Salvation Army is requesting that cases of water be donated at The Salvation Army located at 31 W. Owens Avenue, or at their administrative offices at 2900 Palomino Lane.
Donors may also call 702-870-4430 to give a cash donation to purchase water and other hot weather supplies.
But despite the lack of water bottles, The Salvation Army says their cooling stations will remain open, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, for people to get out of the summer heat.
