LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A historic downtown Las Vegas liquor store that closed in 2011 after 60 years in business started renovations for a grand re-opening as a bar.
Under new ownership, Atomic Liquors on Fremont Street East is latching on to the revitalization of downtown with the planned re-opening.
Store owners said the early stages of the revamping will involve just a fresh coat of paint. They did say, though, the bar will look better than it has over its history.
"This is one of the most historic buildings in Vegas," said store partner Derek Stonebarger.
No exact date of re-opening was disclosed, but they did estimate the business to return in a few months with a grand "re-blasting" party.
