LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Several American Medical Response ambulance crews are competing in an obstacle course at Sam Boyd Stadium Wednesday.
The event focuses on safety awareness in three areas: driving skills, patient handling skills, and patient care skills.
Crews drive through a timed emergency vehicle course. They work through different scenarios using equipment and mannequins.
Five teams are competing in our region. They are from Las Vegas; Pueblo, Colo.; Bozeman, Mt.; Grants Pass, Ore.; and Thurston County, Wash.
These crews are the winners of their local competitions.
The team that wins this competition will head to Denver for another event.
AMR has held this competition for three years, but this is the first year it's been held in Las Vegas.
