LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A new Las Vegas fire station started serving the Summerlin area Tuesday.

Fire Station 107 is located at 9398 Sundial Drive, on Del Webb Boulevard near Lake Mead Boulevard.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman joined Mayor Pro Tem Stavros S. Anthony and representatives from the Sun City/Summerlin community to open the station.

Sun City's Silver Tones performed and a large American Flag flew from the extended ladders of two fire engines.

The 7,800 square foot station cost approximately $4.3 million.

It houses one engine and one rescue unit.

Richard Construction was the contractor for the project.
