Gas prices fall 7 cents a gallon in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The temperature appears to be the only thing rising this week in Las Vegas.

AAA's Fuel Gauge Report showed a 7-cent fall per gallon in the average price of gasoline over the last week.

The average price of gas stood at $3.67 on Monday.

A month ago, the price of gasoline was $3.91 a gallon. The price of gas, though, was 5-cents lower than this point last year.

Nationally, the average price of gas fell about 3 cents per gallon to $3.53.

Fuel analysts believe the economic implications in Europe could help push prices down further.

"I have a sneaking suspicion that the election in Greece may stir up oil prices this week, and we could see oil prices gain as markets feel more upbeat about the economic situation," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "While any gains in oil prices won't likely be immediately felt, the debt situation in Europe bears keeping a close eye on as it has far reaching global implications. Outside of that situation, West Coast wholesale gasoline prices are now among the lowest in the nation with California, Oregon, and Washington seeing their averages drop back under $4/gallon, while the nation's midsection may see prices rising in the week ahead."
