LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Three children – all under the age of 3 years old – died when they became trapped in a mobile home on fire in northeast Las Vegas, Clark County Fire reported.

The fire was reported at 10:20 a.m. Friday at the Vans Trailer Oasis Mobile Home Park in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North.

According to fire officials, the blaze started on one mobile home then spread to an adjacent unit.

Three children were inside the first unit on fire, with people, possibly neighbors, attempting to rescue them multiple times, officials said.

All the attempts to rescue them failed and the children died at the scene, CCFD confirmed.

Two people believed to be the children's parents were able to escape and were transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries.

The second mobile home on fire was vacant at the time. Both homes were destroyed in the two-alarm blaze.

A witness of the incident said the mother of the children rushed to the mobile home when flames started.

"I saw Amy [mother]. She's running down the street saying the kids are in there," said witness Miranda Biddle. "When they tried to hop through the window [to rescue them], flames were all coming out the thing, so they didn't know what to do."

Biddle also said the children's father was hurt, possibly with burns, trying to get them out.

"[He's] all burnt in the back and everything," Biddle noted. "He's crying to everybody, screaming."

A total of 55 emergency workers from six agencies responded to the fire.

No word on what caused the blaze to erupt. No other injuries were reported.
