NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
Motorists driving through North Las Vegas on the northbound Interstate 15 should expect to be detoured off the highway once again beginning Tuesday night.
The highway will be closed between Lake Mead Avenue and Cheyenne Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Thursday.
The city said the closure will allow for the construction of the N. 5th Street overpass, scheduled for completion in 2013.
Traffic is expected to exit at Lake Mead Avenue, proceed left at Lake Mead to Losee Road, right on Losee to Cheyenne, right on Cheyenne to the northbound I-15 ramp and back onto the freeway.
The overpass is a $130 million project aimed at connecting neighborhoods and businesses on both sides of I-15.
The overpass is an 8-lane roadway with future bus lines between Owens Avenue and Carey Avenue.
The stretch was closed for several weeks last month.
