A man suspected in a deadly April shooting in North Las Vegas was arrested Monday while on the run at the Mexican border in California.

North Las Vegas police said Jose "Smokey" Gonzales, 22, was arrested by United States Immigration Officers at the San Ysidro border crossing outside San Diego.

Gonzales was wanted for the April 26 shootings of four people at an apartment in the 2000 block of Webster Street. Two men were killed in the shooting while two women were critically injured.

NLVPD detectives were sent to San Diego to question Gonzales and request his extradition to Nevada.

Police arrested Ivonne Cabrera, 31, as an alleged accomplice in the slayings. Cabrera faces charges including conspiracy to commit murder, first degree murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and burglary.

Gonzales is expected to face those same charges.
