LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

High winds late Saturday night into early Sunday morning forced authorities to shutdown day two of the Electric Daisy Carnival, but those guests are being given a Sunday night pass.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the early Sunday morning evacuation was due to high winds in the area.

At approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, 90,000 fans were asked to calmly head to the stands of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway as high-winds posed a possible threat to fan safety, according to an Insomniac Productions statement.

At around 2:45 a.m. it was determined the winds would not diminish and the remainder of the night's activities would be canceled.

Fans were advised of the decision and began an orderly exit from the venue.

"Insomniac shares our fans' disappointment that weather conditions changed the second night of the Electric Daisy Carnival experience," said Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella. "Our top priority has always been fan safety and we expect that Mother Nature will be more cooperative Sunday, as we prepare for an amazing day three."

The Electric Daisy Carnival is set to continue as scheduled on Sunday, with gates opening at 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 11.

The music festival is offering free entry on Sunday night to anyone with a Saturday single day ticket. They are requesting that those patrons present Saturday's ticket at the front on Sunday night.

Throughout the operational period of 6 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Sunday, the following has been reported from the Electric Daisy Carnival:

  • 4 misdemeanor citations
  • 4 misdemeanor arrests
  • 12 felony arrests (Narcotics related)
  • 0 DUI-Alcohol arrests
  • 0 DUI-Drug arrests
  • 2 traffic accidents
  • 160 medical calls (3 transported to area hospitals)
  • 90,000 attendees
  • 18 ejections
