1 hurt in North Las Vegas workplace accident

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A person was hospitalized Friday after becoming trapped under a large stack of newspapers at a recycling and waste management facility in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police confirmed the industrial accident at Republic Services in the 300 block of W. Gowan Road just before 11:30 a.m.

The person, reportedly a worker there, was transported to University Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Police did not say what led to the accident. Officers noted the incident will be investigated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
