Child, 12, struck by car in east Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A 12-year-old child was hospitalized with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in east Las Vegas Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro police reported the collision just after 7 a.m. in the 2500 block of Fern View Lane, near Sloan Lane and E. Sahara Avenue.

The child sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital for treatment, police said.

No immediate word on what exactly led to the accident.
